Saturday, September 20, 2014 - Annual Caliche Caper

As usual, you are welcome to come Friday and camp out. We don't have a lot of power for campers but do have a good bit of room for dry campers. This year we have decided to have the Caper on Saturday instead of Sunday to allow people to attend who would normally be at church on Sunday. For those of you who haven't been here before, this is a pretty impromptu get together. The first year we just went to a local restaurant for lunch. The last 13 years we have had a potluck. Please bring a potluck dish.

As a sidelight I still have a lot of ham gear that I am putting up for sale. For some pictures and current equipment list go to my website which is. http://www.k7pof.com Click on ham equipment for sale and then scroll down to pictures and list at end of pictures. Also there are pictures from previous Caliche Capers on the website as well.

In addition to sodas and water we will furnish and grill hot dogs, Brats and hamburgers.

As in previous years, KF7GC Tomy and Debbie Ivan will be here with their popcorn machine serving their delicious popcorn.

If you have folding chairs you could bring, they will come in handy as at this time as we are not sure how many might show up. This year we will invite the same gang, however we are inviting a few more than last year. There have been as many 84 attendees at one of the capers. You are welcome to come early Saturday morning, or, as we said, dry camp Friday and stay Saturday night as well. We will try to start the potluck around 12 noon or a bit later on Saturday September 20, 2014. Please try to be here by 11 AM or so for food setup and introductions. Please let us know if you can come. (We won't disown you if you change your mind the last minute). Remember, spouses are more than welcome and encouraged to come.

The Address is 171 Caliche Dr. Chino Valley, AZ 86323 Phone 928-636-2146

Caliche Drive is about 3/8th mile west of Hwy 89 off of Center Street (3rd stoplight in Chino Valley when you come from the south {Prescott}). We will monitor 3905 SSB and 146.56 simplex on 2 meters as well as 147.000 transmit up 600 KHZ with a PL of 162.2 and 449.250 - 5MHZ with a PL of 192.8.

If you would like a list of attendees from prior years we will be happy to e-mail it to you. Our e-mail address is k7pof@verizon.net Or you can use this link for pictures from previous years.http://www.k7pof.com We are looking forward to hearing from you - Bob K7POF and Linda W7POF
